what to expect
Check out my portfolio
Having the right artist to bring your idea to life, is vital to achieving the tattoo you are dreaming of. As you are exploring different artists, looking through their portfolio is the best way to do it. If you have unanswered questions, check out my FAQ page!
Book an appointMENT
Read through my booking page to understand the process of getting a tattoo at Vibrant Color with me. Every tattoo artist and shop works differently. When filling out the booking form, there is an option to click if a consultation is desired, rather than an initial tattoo session. Consultations are great for discussing large multi-session pieces, visiting the shop in person, meeting me, and clarifying expectations. Days open for tattoo appointments are Thursday through Sunday. Typical start time is 10am.
Prepare for tattoo session
Your time with me is important, and it’s necessary that we both show up fresh and ready. My aim is your comfort and focus, working as efficiently as possible. Tips for having a good appointment are below. Check out my preparation page for more!
Good night rest the night before
Arrange cash or card for payment
Refrain from drinking alcohol the night before
Eat a healthy breakfast - this means more than a granola bar!
Get water and snacks for day of tattoo
Charge headphones or pick out reading material
If desired, can invite a friend for support (limit of one guest please)
Day of Appointment
On the day of your appointment, arriving 5 to 10 minutes early is appreciated to help get you settled in with documents signed. I will have your design ready for review; we will go over it together and answer all questions before starting. Modifications may be needed and that is okay! Breaks are taken as needed and vary depending on need to stretch, get a snack, or use the restroom. Filtered drinking water is available. Please refrain from smoking on breaks. At the completion of that tattoo, I will clean and wrap it while providing aspects of aftercare individualized to your tattoo based on size, placement, etc. For payment I take cash or card, preferably card. Tips appreciated!
I realize that things come up and emergencies happen. I ask that you let me know as soon as possible. We can work it out and get you back on the schedule. No call no shows forfeit their deposit to compensate for lost time and business.
Please be courteous and kind. In the rare case I get sick or need to reschedule, I pledge to give as much notice as possible and will reschedule at the next earliest convenience. Pay or deposits will not be affected. I want to provide the best work possible and can’t do this if I am not feeling 100%.
Caring for your tattoo
How you take care of your tattoo after completion directly relates to how well it heals, preventing infection, and keeping the ink bright if done right. See below for tips and links with after care instructions. I use Tattoo Armour products. An individualized approach for your aftercare will be discussed the day of the appointment, and I am always available for questions! It takes an average of 2-3 weeks for a tattoo to completely heal; however, this widely varies based on numerous factors.
Wash hands with soap and warm water before touching a healing tattoo
Pat dry (do not rub) with a clean paper towel
Follow customized instructions given on day of the appointment
Consult a medical provider if, outside the normal limits of healing, you have any concerns that your new tattoo has resulted in complications such as abnormal swelling extreme pain, colored pus, fever or allergic reaction.
