Tattoo aftercare
Tattoo Armour products help protect your new tattoo and promote healing. Below is a general step-by-step guide for best results. Be sure to follow the individual instructions that you will receive the day of your appointment.
1. Clean the Tattoo
Wash your hands first.
Gently cleanse the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, unscented soap.
Pat dry with a clean, soft towel — no rubbing!
2. Apply Ointment
Use a non-scented ointment and apply a thin layer over the tattoo and surrounding skin.
Less is more — just enough to lightly coat the area.
3. Apply new Tattoo Armour Pad
Cover the tattoo with the Tattoo Armour pad, making sure it extends slightly beyond the tattooed area.
Secure it with tape, gauze, or breathable bandaging — but don’t wrap it too tightly. Your skin needs to breathe.
Change the pad and bandage daily (every 24 hours minimum) or as needed. Do not leave it on continuously.
4. Repeat as Needed
Repeat the cleaning, ointment, and pad application at 24 hours.
Continue until the tattoo is no longer leaking — usually around 3 days.
After that, switch to daily moisturizing with a fragrance-free lotion.
Additional Healing Tips
Avoid Sun Exposure
Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight. Use sunscreen long-term to prevent fading and damage.
Limit Soaking
Absolutely no swimming, baths, or saunas for 10 days. Waterlogged skin can delay healing and damage your tattoo.
Don’t Scratch or Pick
Itching is normal — resist the urge to scratch or peel. Picking can lead to scarring or infection.
Moisturize Daily (After Healing)
Use a fragrance-free moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
No Tanning
Do not tan for at least 3 weeks or during the healing phase of your tattoo.
Tattoo Armour is a great tool, but my individualized aftercare instructions come first.
If you notice unusual symptoms (e.g., excessive swelling, extreme pain, colored pus, or experience an allergic reaction), reach out to me at (907) 230-8298 or consult a healthcare provider.
Be cautious from taking advice from those who are not professional tattooers or medical professionals.
I would encourage and appreciate my current clientele to leave a review, sharing their experiences for others to see. Thank you for your time and supporting Alaska small business!
